Found at the heart of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park in Cadiz, and only a short 20-minute drive from Gibraltar or Sotogrande, or a 90-minute drive from major cities Seville and Malaga, Wakana sits on the shore of a large lake boasting three islands — a magical enclave preserved since antiquity.
The area, dating back to the Neolithic era and subsequently a trading site for Tartessians and Greeks, retains remnants of its ancient history. Painted figures can be found in the cave of Tajo de las Figuras as well as a set of dolmens thought to be funerary structures as Phoenician remains were found nearby.
