A traditional yurt is a portable, round tent that is covered with skins or various felts and is used as a dwelling by nomadic tribes in the steppes of Central Asia.
Traditionally, yurts are decorated with symbolic patterns, most often depicting the five fundamental and unchanging elements of the cosmos with bright colours: fire, earth, water, metal and wood. Such patterns are commonly used in the home and are believed to bring strength and offer protection.
Our original Mongolian yurts combine and integrate customary furniture with Western creature-comforts like beds, linen and an ensuite. They have also been carefully decorated to achieve a wonderful and authentic nomadic experience.
